Santa's "HO HO HO" heard over the Air-to-Air Radio!

What a Surprise!
Families living in the Lyncrest area in the RM of Springfield on the outskirts of Winnipeg, Manitoba, were treated to a surprise Saturday morning when Santa was heard announcing his arrival on the Lyncrest Airport radio. About 50 children and parents were visiting and playing with Harv's Air paper air planes in the Lyncrest community centre, while sipping on Jim Goold’s hot chocolate. As soon as they heard Santa’s familiar HO HO HOs it became totally quiet with everyone glued to the windows, straining for a glimpse of Santa as he landed in the blowing snow storm.

Rudolph needed a Rest
Santa said "Rudolph was needing a bit of a rest" so his reindeer were left at home at the North Pole; Santa was using his plane to make one last visit to double check his ‘Naughty and Nice’ List. Two of Santa’s Elves came with him!

"We got to know Santa!!"
Neighbours, Candice and Cory Sliworsky, invited Santa to stay for some photos by Robert Dearden, a professional photographer who lives in the area. For the first time ever, people were able to mingle with and actually get to know Santa for a couple of hours. Everyone agreed it was “The most fabulous visit with Santa” they ever had. Families cheered Santa as he took off on runway 36, heading back to the North Pole to get ready for Christmas Eve, calling in "Meeeerrrrrry Christmas Ho Ho Ho" as he disappeared from sight!

Special thank you to Bert Elam, Bowen and Donna Prowse, Candice and Cory Sliworsky, Cathy and Butch Rodier, Jim Goold, George Inman, Burt Barkman, John Blackner, Peter Moodie, Robert Dearden and Adrian Mielleur and all the families that made this event a success! Check the local news outlets for updates on Santa’s trip to Lyncrest and back to the North Pole...plus be sure to listen in on NASA's web site for up to the minute tracking of Santa on Christmas Eve! Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings from Lyncrest and the Springfield Flying Club.
